The role

As a Senior Piping Stress Engineer, you'll be at the heart of one of the UK's most strategically important nuclear programmes. This is a chance to work on a project that truly matters, while advancing your career in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.

Cavendish Nuclear is partnering with Springfield Fuels Limited to deliver a brand new reactor facility at the Springfields site in Preston that will convert Reprocessed Uranium into UF6 at a scale of 2,500 tonnes per year. The project features a new RepU conversion plant, a Fluorine Production Plant, and modern support facilities, slated to be operational by 2031.

Responsibilities
  • Perform piping stress analysis using Hexagon Caesar II and PV Elite.
  • Review and approve vendor designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with piping engineers, designers, and other disciplines to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Develop and finalise stress analysis design basis, critical line lists, and support specifications.
  • Attend client and subcontractor meetings, providing technical expertise and guidance.

This is a permanent, full time role working 37 hours per week based in Warrington (Cheshire) or Humberside (East Yorkshire).

Essential Experience
  • Proven experience with Hexagon Caesar II for pipe stress analysis.
  • Proficiency in Hexagon PV Elite for pressure vessel analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME B31.1 and B31.3 piping codes, plus BS EN standards for pressure and industrial piping.

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
