Senior Physiotherapist - UPMC Aut Even 
Location: Aut Even Hospital Job type: Permanent
OverviewProvide high quality physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services to orthopaedic patients both inpatient and outpatient. Lead and deliver outpatient orthopaedic and general musculoskeletal physiotherapy services while also providing care for orthopaedic in patients. Combine clinical expertise with service development and leadership responsibilities to meet ISCP and WCPT core standards.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver physiotherapy services to orthopaedic, medical, and surgical patients.
- Provide expert assessment and treatment for orthopaedic patients.
- Develop and implement evidence based protocols for post operative orthopaedic surgeries.
- Lead and develop the outpatient orthopaedic service, ensuring high standards of clinical care.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff.
- Participate in strategic planning for orthopaedic services within the hospital.
- Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and discharge planning.
- Provide patient education and staff training on musculoskeletal/orthopaedic topics.
- Engage in clinical audits and research to advance service quality.
- Maintain CORU registration and adhere to hospital governance standards.
- Ensure documentation meets local, national, and international standards, including patient confidentiality.
- Attend required training programmes (fire safety, infection control, etc.) and ensure competency updates.
- BSc Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
- Minimum of four years clinical experience with orthopaedic, musculoskeletal, neurological, and respiratory patients.
- Demonstrated knowledge of evidence based practice in orthopaedic and musculoskeletal management.
- Experience with audit, clinical effectiveness, and research projects.
- Basic PC/IT skills; effective communication and interpersonal skills; time management; problem solving; flexibility.
- Desirable: Post registration MSc; membership of ISCP; membership of an ISCP special interest group; experience in the Irish private hospital setting.
- Commitment to continual professional development and lifelong learning.
- Understanding of audit and clinical effectiveness processes.
- Knowledge of the Irish private hospital setting.

- Basic Life Support (biannually)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (biannually if applicable)

- Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Updates (annual)
- Adherence to ISCP guidance on career progression pathway.
€62,823.42 - €74,757.99 per annum based on a 35 hour work week.
