Senior pensions projects specialist - hybrid or remote

Due to ongoing growth and business wins, an established and fast growing pensions services provider has new positions for pension project specialists. These include senior roles which can be based either hybrid or fully remote, and have their own dedicated projects function. The organisation is known for delivering clear, practical solutions to occupational pension schemes and for supporting clients through complex administrative and regulatory challenges. The successful candidate will take a leading role in managing and delivering a diverse portfolio of specialist pension projects and will have the opportunity to work on high value initiatives that directly improve outcomes for pension scheme members. This role involves close collaboration with trustees, advisers, insurers, and internal teams, providing an excellent platform for professional development within a supportive and progressive environment.
Responsibilities- Supporting bulk annuity transactions, including data preparation, insurer engagement and transition activity.
- Delivering benefit audit analysis and rectification work.
- Leading data analysis, cleansing and rectification exercises.
- Overseeing GMP reconciliation, rectification and equalisation projects.
- Contributing to legal and technical reviews, such as benefit specifications and equalisation requirements.
- Managing data preparation and transfer work for transitions to insurers or other bodies.
- Maintaining accurate member records in line with regulatory expectations.
- Setting project timelines, tracking progress and supporting budget management.
- Providing updates at governance meetings.
- Assisting with scheme administration and supporting calculation testing.
- Acting as a subject matter specialist and providing guidance to less experienced colleagues.
- Managing a personal portfolio of schemes and projects, ensuring delivery to high quality and within agreed service levels.
- Experience in Defined Benefit pension administration (minimum of five years, but candidates with slightly less experience may also be considered).
- Technically strong and knowledgeable in UK pensions legislation, regulation and industry practice.
- Highly organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
- Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and pension administration systems.
- Solution focused, detail oriented and committed to high quality output.
- Experience with GMP reconciliation or equalisation calculations (desirable).
- Understanding of Pension Protection Fund processes (desirable).
