Senior Occupational Therapist

Coolock Children's Disability Network Team

This is an exciting opportunity for Senior Occupational Therapist to join our service to support children and their families, presenting with complex needs arising from a disability.

The Occupational Therapist is a valuable member of the Children's Disability Network Team (CDNT) who will provide a quality evidence-based service in line with Progressing Disability Services (PDS) principles including family-centred practice.

We currently have permanent position available in Coolock Children's Disability Network Team. We are interested in applications from occupational therapists seeking both full-time work and part time work.

The successful candidate must have the following: Essential Criteria
  • Degree or Masters in Occupational Therapy accredited to the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.
  • Fully registered or registration in process with CORU.
  • A minimum of 3 years post graduate clinical working experience.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with families and children with a range of disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills and the ability to work in a self directed manner.
  • Excellent ability to work with complex cases as part of a team.
  • Committed to the delivery of quality, family-centred, community-based services
  • Evidence of continuing professional in leadership/mentoring/supervision.
  • Experience with clinical supervision including students. Health and Social Care Professionals
  • Evidence of a commitment to continuing professional development in the relevant area.
Desirable Criteria
  • Clinical experience of working with children with a variety of complex needs including Autism, Intellectual Disability and Physical Disability.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in a children's disability service.
  • Experience in supporting 24-hour postural management needs with a recognised seating/postural management course completed.
  • Experience in the implementation of sensory integration approaches with a recognised sensory integration course completed.
  • Previous experience related to Assessment of Need.
  • Full clean driving licence and use of a car

Salary scale: Successful candidates will be paid in line with the HSE Senior Occupational Therapist consolidated pay scales - Point 1 65,197 to Point 9 76,767 per annum.

Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above.
