Senior Network Development Manager, England North

About the role

As the Senior Network Development Manager, you will lead a small team to initiate, develop, and deliver programmes and projects to advance the National Cycle Network (NCN). Your focus will be on ensuring the NCN remains innovative and relevant by creating new routes and removing barriers.

Key details
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Location: Sustrans offices in Leeds, Manchester, or Newcastle, with flexible working from home
  • Full-time: 37.5 hours/week, flexible working considered
  • Salary: £36,629 per annum (pro-rata for part-time)
Responsibilities
  • Manage and support the Network Development team in managing projects that support the Paths for Everyone strategy
  • Provide project management expertise, strategic support, and ensure resource allocation to impactful projects
  • Build relationships with local authorities, partner organisations, and community groups
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and innovative strategies
  • Travel within the region for meetings and site visits
About you
  • Experience leading, motivating, and managing a team
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with project management frameworks
  • Knowledge of transport planning and active travel or transport policies
  • Skilled in research, report writing, and presenting findings
