Job Description
Overview 
Our client, a Major Oil and Gas Operator, is seeking an experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer for an initial 12 month PAYE contract role.
Purpose of RoleThe primary purpose of this position is to provide discipline engineering support to UK operations to ensure equipment integrity and regularity, act as the SECE Owner for Rotating Equipment, support breakdowns, deliver the maintenance plan in accordance with the maintenance strategy, provide input to the maintenance budget and support plant optimisation.
Critical Responsibilities- Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and HSES Procedures.
- Assuring Rotating SECE degradation / threat management risk assessments and maintenance deferment risk assessments.
- Leading and managing activities to be carried out safely and environmentally prudently in compliance with all regulatory requirements, legislation, HSEQ procedures, Asset specific Performance Standards and Engineering Standards.
- Monitoring equipment/system performance and initiating and ensuring corrective actions.
- Providing discipline engineering and maintenance support to UK operations.
- Overseeing Mechanical Rotating equipment SECE gap closure implementation plans.
- Providing budget input/scope for maintenance and modifications.
- Continuously challenging technical solutions, engineering performance and cost of modification projects.
- Raising TWMs where complex technical solutions and modifications are required.
- Providing an optimized preventive maintenance program, including detailed work packages for UK Operated Assets.
- Assuring Rotating equipment elements of the Technical MoC Process.
- Managing equipment performance including spare part management and warranty follow up.
- Mobilising offshore as and when required by business.
- Being required to join the emergency response rota should this become necessary.
- Educated to engineering degree level or satisfactory equivalent (e.g. HND/HNC) plus preferable qualifications/experience and/or vocational certificates.
- Chartered Engineer Status and Corporate Member of a professional body preferred.
- Understanding of processes required to meet HSE objectives and full familiarity with the UK regulatory environment.
- Significant operational and engineering experience.
- Previous relevant technical experience.
- Offshore experience.
- Self driven, strong personal leadership, teamwork orientation and ability to drive toward optimal business solutions.
- Excellent communication, influencing, negotiating and networking skills; building strong relationships and being respected internally and externally.
- Adept at driving continuous improvement and instigating change.
