We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our global team focused on cost optimization. This role involves a broad scope of engineering work across all our products in the EMEA & SAL regions.
Position Summary
You will handle industrial and mechanical design, verification, implementation, and technical documentation for your areas, mainly related to high-volume products. The position is based in Dundee, Scotland, or Malmö, Sweden, working within a global team.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical design development and 3D CAD modeling of exterior and internal parts.
- Participate in industrial design discussions.
- Potential to lead colleagues involved in mechanical design.
- Define test methods, verify designs, and analyze results.
- Write technical documentation, including requirements and test reports.
- Prepare designs for release and production implementation.
Skills and Qualifications
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 4+ years of relevant experience; experience in sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, machining, packaging electronic components, and cooling solutions is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks.
- Experience with PDM systems like SmarTeam or similar.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Experience working in test labs or experimental shops.
Essential Functions
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
- Strong problem-solving skills, results-driven, customer-focused.
- Ability to create and understand engineering documents.
- Comfortable working in international and remote teams.
- Efficient in individual and team work, both on-site and remotely.
- Willing to travel to DFS sites as needed.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
