PE Global are delighted to be working with a leading Sustainability Engineering Consultancy to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the team. This is a full-time, permanent role, based in London.

THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who can lead change and mentor engineers within their team, ensuring best-in-class engineering. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the theoretical and practical application of mechanical engineering and a strong understanding of other disciplines offered by the company. The role involves leading and managing the full Mechanical Design on projects of all sizes.

  • Lead and manage full Mechanical Design on projects of all sizes, demonstrating client care.
  • Provide quality control for Mechanical Engineering projects across all offices.
  • Manage project costs effectively.
  • Oversee both project teams and cross-functional teams within the organisational structure.
  • Travel to client and project locations as required to represent EDC for meetings, surveys, training, etc.
  • Collaborate with other EDC offices on relevant matters.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 6+ years of Building Services Consultancy Design experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with thermal modelling, energy assessment, and dynamic energy modelling software is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the commercial sector and BIM experience are strong assets.
  • Chartership is desirable.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Proven experience delivering detailed designs through the full design cycle.
  • Expertise in Mechanical design areas such as Water Services, Heating / LTHW, HVAC, Fuel, above-ground drainage, and BMS.
  • Deep knowledge of Irish building regulations, particularly TGD parts B, F, G, L, and the ability to demonstrate this knowledge in design and project leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise, and plan effectively.
  • Leadership skills to oversee projects internally and externally, ensuring client satisfaction, profitability, and maintaining the company's reputation.
  • Good understanding of other building disciplines related to design and installation.
  • Strong leadership qualities and teamwork skills.
  • Decisiveness in project management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
  • Commercial awareness.
