Senior Mechanical Engineer - Solidworks / Friesland / Netherlands

We're currently partnering with a growing industrial machinery company that are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team. They are seeking a freelance engineer - especially someone who can hit the ground running and bring immediate value.

Core Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically in machine building
• Strong foundation in motion systems, drives, shafts, bearings, pneumatics, mechatronics, and machine directives (including CE compliance).
• Experience in integrating mechanical systems with automation (consideration of cabling, control cabinets, etc.).
• Proven ability to produce high-quality, precise mechanical drawings with manufacturability in mind.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and SolidWorks Enterprise PDM.
• Ideally experienced with configuration management, libraries, and ERP system integration (RitterIQ experience is a plus).
• Capable of writing macros and productivity tools within SolidWorks.
• Comfortable with hands-on testing/assembly to validate designs.

Preferred Attributes:

• Ability to act as an internal Lead of SolidWorks or application manager.
• Willingness to take ownership of documentation standards and best practices within the design environment.
• Strong sense of responsibility and craftsmanship - takes pride in delivering drawings that don't require further clarification or correction.
• Enjoys working in a small, dynamic team and is open to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Open to standardizing products and pushing modular designs across projects.
