Senior Marketplace Growth & AI Strategy Developer - Hilversum

We are supporting a leading global brand in the sports and retail industry in hiring a Senior Marketplace Growth & AI Strategy Developer to join their EMEA Marketplace team.

The role

You'll operate at the center of marketplace strategy, business analytics, and commercial decision-making, supporting the development of a winning marketplace ecosystem across EMEA. As well as, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Sales, Strategy, Finance, Merchandising, Digital, Marketing, and Regional Leadership teams to identify growth opportunities, improve marketplace performance, and support long-term channel development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct marketplace mapping and channel analysis across EMEA markets.
• Identify growth opportunities, market white spaces, and expansion potential.
• Support development of marketplace strategies across countries and distribution channels.
• Analyse market, consumer, and competitive trends to generate actionable insights.
• Build business cases to support commercial decision-making.
• Partner with local and central teams to align marketplace priorities.
• Monitor strategic initiative performance through reporting and KPI tracking.
• Support business reviews and leadership presentations.
• Enhance reporting standards and analytical processes.
• Identify emerging market opportunities and future growth drivers.
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders within a Matrix organisation.
• Translate market intelligence into practical commercial recommendations.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Business Development, Strategy, Commercial Analytics, Market Intelligence, Management Consulting, or a related field.
• Proven experience with marketplace mapping, opportunity assessment, and white space identification.
• Strong analytical capabilities with experience interpreting complex datasets.
• Demonstrated ability to derive business insights and influence commercial decisions.
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders in international Matrix environments.
• Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
• Ability to operate independently in ambiguous and fast-changing environments.
• Experience supporting regional or international growth initiatives.

Technical Requirements/Tools

• Advanced Excel
• Power BI
• Tableau
• Market intelligence platforms (Circana, Euromonitor or similar)
• Data analytics and reporting tools
• AI tools and applications
• Coding experience with AI-assisted development environments, particularly Cursor

Preferred Experience

• Retail, wholesale, consumer goods, E-commerce, or marketplace environments.
• Experience supporting EMEA regional teams.
• Exposure to commercial planning and channel strategy.
• Experience leveraging AI solutions to drive business insights and productivity.
