Job Summary

Work Flexibility: Hybrid or Onsite Stryker presents a rare and exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team in developing key technology to enable the evolution of new surgical techniques in Ear, Nose & ENT surgery. The successful candidate will be based at our Innovation Center facility in Cork, Ireland, where our office space and labs are designed to enable our multi-disciplined product development teams acquire an intimate appreciation of our customers' needs while designing and bringing innovative solutions for ENT applications to market.

Leads or coordinates cross-functional project/program teams from design to delivery of fully-developed products that are ready for customer use. Monitors performance and recommends schedule changes, cost adjustments or resource additions. Investigates facts and develops solutions to problems during the design and planning phases. Provides timely and accurate information and status updates to functional leaders. May be responsible for feasibility studies and field trials management. This is a management position that contributes and achieves results through others. The role is responsible for managing subordinates in professional jobs or managing through subordinate managers / supervisors or is a leader of process that achieves results through others, whom are not direct reports. Job requires comprehensive understanding of the concepts and principles in their discipline. The requirement for a broader knowledge implies the need to understand other concepts and principles in context in order to resolve issues that have an impact beyond the area. The job has full management responsibility including the management of numerous teams of managers/professionals, planning for the teams' future needs and operations. There will be financial accountability for independent budgets. This job typically requires a degree or equivalent and a minimum of 10 or more years experience.

What you will do
  • Ensure the implementation of Integration Management strategies and templates. Provide mentorship in Integration management practices.
  • Collaborate with BU leadership to define and manage program scope. Contribute to the creation of detailed Work Breakdown Structure.
  • Contribute to the detailed project Gantt chart. Collaborate with PM on major workstreams, and intersecting milestones. Own your team's program schedule.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional managers and directors to devise program budget. Optimize, monitor and maintain your team's costs within budget.
  • Implement quality management strategies and templates for projects and programs. Provide mentorship in quality management practices.
  • Implement risk management strategies and templates for projects and programs enabling effective identification and monitoring of risk response plan. Provide mentorship in risk management practices.
  • Ensure the implementation of Procurement Management strategies and templates and be a strategic partner in the selection of procurement partners.
  • Responsible for evaluating a range of programs and projects and other work within the portfolio with the goal of facilitating staffing, resolving resource allocation conflicts, and monitoring staff utilization on the activities that will generate the highest business value aligned with the prioritization process.
  • May recruit, hire, onboard, manage, and develop direct staff.
  • Build and sustain effective stakeholder relationships at all levels, particularly with business partners. Develop stakeholder strategies for the effective management across broad range of expectations and requirements.
  • Implement an effective communication management strategy to executive leadership with specific emphasis on business objectives delivery, efficient resource deployment, effective risk and issue management.
  • Responsible for ensuring/coaching others in effective meeting management and group facilitation activities for programs/projects in scope of PMO.
  • Support the management of divisional/department strategic planning activities to meet divisional/department goals.
  • Champion talent strategy in the department. Build mutual trust and drive collaboration across teams. Regularly develop people and talent pools.
  • May lead PMO function for a business. Manage and optimize department portfolio budgets. May lead a portfolio governance board for the department.
  • Additional role-specific technical areas of responsibilities may be added as deemed necessary by the local hiring manager.
  • Show care and concern about team members, regardless of background, and create an inclusive team environment for team members with different cultural backgrounds.
  • Demonstrate tact and diplomacy when confronted with politically contentious situations, stay calm under pressure and have great conflict resolution skills.

Minimum Qualifications (Required)
  • BS or equivalent and 10+ years of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Strongly desired)
  • PMP or equivalent.
  • MBA and/or MS.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will have direct reports.

Work Flexibility
  • Remote - role allows you to work the majority to 100% of time from an alternate workplace.
  • Field-based - you can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary.
  • Onsite - role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements.
  • Hybrid - you can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
