In response, we have established a CFO Advisory business at Deloitte, delivering innovative, bespoke solutions to CFOs in some of the world's leading businesses, developing sustained relationships as trusted advisers supporting and advising on their management responsibilities.

About the Team

The Accounting and Reporting Advisory (US Markets) team is a critical part of our CFO Advisory business, leading relationships and supporting our clients in their capital markets strategies, especially in the US markets.

We work across industries and with both private and listed companies. Joining us offers opportunities to work on transactions, collaborating with other teams in Technology & Transformation and across Deloitte, to help clients navigate disruptive events such as IPOs, M&A, regulatory changes, and technology transformations.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Advisory projects within the US markets, including transactions accounting, GAAP conversions, and supporting operational finance teams.
  2. Acting as an IFRS/US GAAP expert, supporting clients in standards implementation and application.
  3. Performing risk assessments and controls gap analyses to monitor operational effectiveness and support remediation.
  4. Providing expert advice alongside other Deloitte teams.
  5. Managing multiple teams to deliver quality results on time.
  6. Building trusted relationships with CFOs and finance leaders.
  7. Supporting business development efforts.
  8. Assisting with SEC reporting, drafting technical memos, and responding to SEC comments.
  9. Supporting IPO readiness assessments, gap analysis, and bridge planning.
  10. Assisting with SOX implementation and internal control assessments.
  11. Engaging in US-related transactions globally.
Skills and Experience

We seek candidates with strong financial controls, external audit, and accounting backgrounds, demonstrating technical rigor, problem-solving, project management, and client relationship skills.

Qualifications include:

  • Experience managing complex projects and teams.
  • Excellent relationship management and influencing skills.
  • Strong accounting knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and SEC rules.
  • Audit experience, preferably with a Big 4 firm, with PCAOB audit knowledge.
  • US SOX/ICFR experience, understanding COSO 2013, PCAOB, and SEC requirements.
  • Understanding control design, processes, risks, and best practices.
  • Professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, US CPA).
  • Willingness to travel as required.
