Job Description

Senior Linux Platform Engineer vacancy for our Zug based client in the Pharma sector.

Your tasks:

  • Architect and engineer the core OS platform, taking ownership of a custom Debian-based distribution.
  • Master the build and release pipeline, evolving infrastructure and processes for reliability and reproducibility.
  • Act as the ultimate escalation point for complex, low-level system issues, performing deep-dive troubleshooting.
  • Consult and empower development teams on leveraging the Roche Linux platform effectively.
  • Proactively drive improvements in distribution, tools, and processes.

Your experience/knowledge:

  • Deep, hands-on Linux mastery (8+ years) across the entire Linux stack.
  • Proven experience building, modifying, or maintaining a customised Linux distribution, preferably Debian.
  • Expertise in Debian packaging, including creating, patching, and maintaining .deb packages.
  • Strong Scripting and automation skills, fluent in Python and Shell Scripting.
  • Language skills: English - fluent
