Your New RoleA rare opportunity to join the growing Aware Super UK office as a Senior Legal Counsel, advising on a broad range of investment, corporate and commercial matters.
As Senior Legal Counsel, you'll be a key partner to the UK investment business, providing expert legal support across complex transactions in Private Equity, Infrastructure and Property. Based in London, you'll lead legal execution across the full investment lifecycle while supporting governance, regulatory compliance and business operations in a growing international platform.
We are looking for strong transactional experience within the UK and European markets, rather than previous superannuation industry experience.Your role will include:
- Provide end-to-end legal support on investment transactions across Property, Infrastructure and Private Equity, from origination through to execution and asset management.
- Review and negotiate a broad range of transaction and corporate documents, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and commercial objectives.
- Advise on legal structuring of investments, including UK and European SPVs, and support the ongoing management of investment vehicles.
- Support the UK business with corporate, commercial and regulatory legal advice, including vendor, IT and operational agreements.
- Manage external legal counsel and support governance, company secretariat and regulatory compliance activities.
- Qualified lawyer (UK or Australia) with 6+ years' PQE across private equity, corporate, funds, property or infrastructure transactions in UK and Europe.
- Strong experience managing complex investment transactions and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Sound understanding of UK legal and regulatory frameworks, with experience across cross-border structures highly regarded.
- Excellent stakeholder management & communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise senior investment professionals.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under tight timelines.
- You are balanced in accepting risk in any decision you face. You are curious to understand risk context and choose to speak up as we simplify, learn and grow.
