As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in managing and advising on a wide range of legal matters across our global operations. You will be a trusted advisor to senior management, providing strategic legal guidance with a strong focus on commercial contracts, risk management, and compliance. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing organization in the subsea services sector, where your insights and leadership will help drive legal excellence and business integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the review, drafting, and negotiation of complex commercial contracts, including client agreements, consortium arrangements, and subcontractor terms.
- Provide legal support during tender processes and project execution, including variation orders and claims.
- Advise senior management on legal risks, liabilities, and strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with external advisors (e.g., insurance, tax, regulatory) to ensure comprehensive legal coverage.
- Develop and implement legal policies, procedures, and best practices to support business operations and mitigate risk.
- Monitor and interpret relevant legal and regulatory developments, ensuring compliance across jurisdictions.
- Mentor junior legal staff and contribute to the continuous improvement of the legal function.
- Master's degree in Law (LL.M. Or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant legal experience, ideally gained in an international environment or law firm.
- Proven expertise in maritime, offshore, or construction law, with a strong track record in contract negotiation and risk management.
- Solid understanding of commercial drivers and the ability to balance legal and business considerations.
- Proactive, pragmatic, and solution-oriented mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); Dutch is a plus.
