Job Description
Job Summary

Salary Range: £59,966.00 - £67,468.00. The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Hull invites applications for a Senior Lecturer (Band 9, UO45-UO49). This continuing contract role offers a leading position in shaping the future of healthcare education.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership to support the School's ambition to establish clinical skills and simulation-based education as a distinctive strength within its educational offering.
  • Lead innovation in teaching and learning, enhance practice based education, and develop interprofessional learning opportunities across a wide range of healthcare programmes.
  • Contribute to the design, delivery, and continuous enhancement of undergraduate, postgraduate, and apprenticeship programmes, while supporting strategic projects aligned with School and Faculty priorities.
  • Influence curriculum development, build strong partnerships with NHS and other healthcare providers, mentor colleagues, and promote educational scholarship and innovation.
Qualifications and Experience

About You: You will be a registered healthcare professional (NMC, HCPC or equivalent) with a relevant Master's degree or equivalent professional experience. You will have a strong track record of excellence in healthcare education, alongside significant experience of leading practice-based education and the use of clinical skills and simulation-enhanced learning to support curriculum development and educational quality.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Strong academic and educational leadership.
  • Experience of leading educational innovation and curriculum enhancement.
  • Expertise in clinical skills and/or simulation-based education.
  • Effective partnership working with healthcare organisations and external stakeholders.
  • A commitment to inclusive, interprofessional and student centred learning.
  • Engagement in scholarship, pedagogic development and the dissemination of good practice.
  • A PhD, Senior Fellowship recognition and experience of leading simulation or interprofessional education initiatives would be advantageous.
