The Senior Lead Scientist, Toxicology role is based in Wilmington, DE (hybrid). Ability to travel up to 25% of the time (globally) required. - Design, plan, and conduct laboratory and field experiments to evaluate the safety and environmental impact of new products.
- Provide expertise in ecotoxicology, environmental fate, and chemical risk assessment to support product registrations across global markets.
- Complete regulatory registration projects for health and bioscience ingredients, including exposure assessments and safety reports.
- Respond to inquiries on regulatory issues related to environmental safety and toxicology for global compliance programs.
- Develop testing strategies and plans to meet international chemical safety requirements.
- Translate complex scientific data into clear recommendations for diverse audiences.
- Monitor external toxicology studies to ensure compliance with protocols and sound scientific practices.
- Represent IFF in meetings with regulatory authorities, trade associations, and scientific working groups.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support product stewardship and innovation.
- Doctorate degree in toxicology, ecotoxicology, or a related field, with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of chemical safety, environmental risk assessment, and toxicology testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with global chemical regulations and hazard classification systems.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with international regulatory frameworks and product registration processes.
- Knowledge of polymer chemistry and biodegradation testing.
- Active participation in scientific associations or working groups.
