We are seeking an experienced Senior Lawyer to join our clients Legal Services team, providing expert legal advice and representation in complex children and families cases. This hybrid, 5-month interim role offers the chance to work on high-impact cases that directly affect the lives of children across Manchester and Salford.
Key Responsibilities- Handle complex and sensitive public and private children law matters
- Provide high-quality legal advice to council departments
- Represent the council in court and manage related legal proceedings
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to legal training
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and council policies
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FCILEX (with advocacy rights)
- Extensive recent experience in children and families law
- Strong advocacy and legal drafting skills
- Ability to manage complex caseloads independently
- Politically sensitive and solution-focused approach
