Job Description

Role Overview

As a Senior Landscape Planner, you will lead and contribute to a variety of landscape planning projects, including LVA's, LVIA's, and landscape masterplans. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert guidance, technical reports, and creative solutions to meet client objectives as well as working proactively with other disciplines to help find project solutions, such as balancing BNG compliance with landscape objectives.

The salary for the role is up to £40,000, depending upon experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management - Lead and manage landscape planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance.
    Technical Expertise - Prepare LVA/LVIAs, feasibility studies, landscape strategies, and input into EIAs.
    Client Engagement - Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, identifying opportunities for new business and supporting proposals.
    Team Leadership - Mentor junior staff, providing guidance and technical oversight to support their professional growth.
    Collaboration - Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including ecologists, planners, and engineers, to deliver integrated solutions.
    Fieldwork - Undertake site visits and surveys to assess landscapes and gather data for analysis and reporting.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A degree in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Planning, or a related discipline.
    Chartered Membership of the Landscape Institute (CMLI).
    Proven experience in landscape planning, including LVA/LVIAs, and landscape design strategies.
    Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage budgets, resources, and deadlines effectively.
    Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., GIS, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite).
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and high-quality reports.
    A good understanding of UK planning policy and legislation related to landscape and environmental planning.
    A full UK driving licence is essential.
