Reporting to the IT Manager, you will manage a diverse portfolio of on-premises and cloud-based systems, working closely with InfoSec and Infrastructure teams to maintain high availability and data protection standards. You will be responsible for:
- Owning and managing Microsoft 365 and Azure services
- Maintaining VMware ESXi, Windows Servers, storage systems, DNS, and PKI
- Collaborating with Information Security to implement best practice configurations and security hardening
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex system issues, liaising with third parties as needed
- Mentoring junior team members and share your knowledge
- Evaluating emerging technologies and recommending improvements to performance, reliability, and security
This role offers the opportunity to ensure the seamless and secure operation of UK Biobank's critical internal IT systems, where your technical expertise and proactive approach will help keep our organisation running smoothly and efficiently.
Is this you? In order to be successful, you will have;
- At least 5 years' experience providing third-line IT support in a medium sized organisation managing multiple technologies
- Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform) and Azure
- Experience with Enterprise Mobility & Security Management (Intune, Entra ID)
- Solid knowledge of VMware ESXi, Windows Server 2019+, DNS, storage systems including SAN, and PKI
- Good understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security including Zero Trust Network Access
