Job Description

NES Fircroft is seeking a Senior Integrity Engineer to join our client's team at the Wytch Farm oilfield near Corfe Castle, Wareham, Dorset. This is an initial 12-month contract with potential for extension. The role involves working on-site from Monday to Friday.

The Senior Integrity Engineer will perform senior mechanical engineering duties for static equipment, ensuring compliance with standards and managing integrity risks effectively. A key focus is on regulatory compliance (PSSR, PSR, COMAH) and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Include: Safety Ownership
  • Apply the nine Life Saving Rules to ensure safety for all personnel.
  • Promote safety, environmental, and risk discussions throughout the asset lifecycle.
  • Senior Asset Engineering activities.
  • Approve piping isometrics for construction.
  • Approve purchase specifications for valves, materials, and ratings.
  • Approve quality packs for fabrication.
  • Prepare technical specifications for static equipment.
  • Review management of change (MOC) proposals impacting asset integrity.
Integrity Management
  • Share and escalate asset risks appropriately.
  • Perform code-compliant calculations and review third-party reports.
  • Maintain pipeline risk assessments and prepare annual integrity reviews.
  • Prepare monthly integrity KPIs.
  • Conduct weekly remote interrogation of cathodic protection systems.
  • Review vendor reports and follow up on recommendations.
  • Review and update engineering standards.
Corrosion Management
  • Follow site corrosion management strategies.
  • Understand corrosion mechanisms relevant to the asset.
  • Contribute to corrosion risk assessments.
  • Review and approve inspection risk assessments.
  • Endorse corrosion under insulation inspection plans.
  • Investigate corrosion failures and apply lessons learned.
  • Approve repair methods for corrosion issues.
  • Identify trends in inspection findings that could impact asset integrity.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
  • BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering is essential.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards it is desirable.
  • API/EEMUA certifications are desirable.
  • Minimum of 8 years of senior mechanical engineering experience in oil and gas, or at least 5 years in a related industry.
  • Knowledge of UK onshore safety legislation and standards for pressure equipment and pipelines.
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder relationship abilities.
  • Attention to detail in high-hazard environments.
  • Self-motivated with a solutions-focused approach.
  • Mentorship experience is a plus.
  • Valid UK driving license.
