SummaryThe Courseware and Media Development Capability (CMDC) at Raytheon UK is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to create engaging training materials for a range of defence customers. The role requires a blend of creative design, technical writing, and project coordination in a collaborative, hybrid environment.
Responsibilities- Produce engaging, articulate storyline builds for customer training courses in line with the Courseware/Media production process, Development Manual, and Style Guide.
- Create courses that leverage effective asset management and workflow procedures.
- Visualise and plan content and media along a clear timeline.
- Ensure compliance with Raytheon and Customer policies.
- Assist other areas within Raytheon when requested.
- Maintain personal and colleagues' health and safety responsibilities.
- Provide flexibility to travel to other UK sites as required.
- Champion and foster environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement.
- Execute any other duties needed to complete the CMDC Training Service.
- Design, develop, and implement training solutions within Articulate Storyline that enhance learner engagement.
- Apply instructional design theories and adult learning principles to create high quality learning experiences.
- Ensure instructional materials align with best practices and internal quality standards.
- Be organised and able to work independently in a fast paced team environment.
- Comprehend and interpret technical and non technical information for visual media and animations.
- Multi task and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Use MS Office (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint) proficiently.
- Lead and motivate team members.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders outside the CMDC team to gather technical information needed for media requirements.
- Meet the requirements for SC security clearance.
- Experience with Moodle or other learning management systems.
- Previous work developing high quality digital learning and training courses.
- Creation of animation sequences that utilize asset management and workflow best practices.
- Visualisation and planning of content and media along a timeline.
- Knowledge of Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT).
