For our client, a leading insurance company in the Belgian market, we are currently looking for an experienced Program manager/ Initiative owner

Department: IT4IT Foundations

Focus: Risk, IT Security, Infrastructure Transformation

Location: Brussels OR Antwerp (2 days on site/3 remote)

Languages: Dutch or French (fluent), with good command of the second national language and English

Duration: First contract until the end of the year, extendable

Drive Strategic IT Change from the Ground Up

We're looking for an experienced IT Program Manager to lead cross-functional, high-value initiatives focused on risk, IT security, and foundational infrastructure capabilities.

As a key figure in the IT4IT Foundations team, you will guide end-to-end delivery of complex programs, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, timelines, and budgets.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Define and Translate IT-Business Requirements

• Map customer journeys and internal IT processes with domain experts
• Translate strategic needs into actionable EPICs and detailed requirements
• Connect IT capabilities with tangible business value

Plan and Align Delivery

• Develop comprehensive project plans including scope, risk analysis, and budget
• Ensure alignment with sponsors and stakeholders at all levels
• Operate within an agile governance framework

Lead Execution and Coordination

• Identify and involve appropriate delivery teams
• Coordinate execution with Product Owners, Team Leads, and stakeholders
• Ensure timely delivery of key milestones

Mobilize and Motivate

• Foster a collaborative, problem-solving mindset
• Promote team autonomy and ownership
• Encourage solution-oriented thinking across all participants

Manage Stakeholders Effectively

• Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
• Communicate progress transparently and proactively
• Escalate challenges to the right decision-makers when needed

Evaluate and Drive Continuous Improvement

• Track progress using lead and lag indicators
• Run evaluations and capture lessons learned
• Contribute to developing best practices across the organization

Lead Strategic, Cross-Departmental Initiatives

• Take full responsibility for complex, high-impact programs
• Oversee initiatives involving multiple departments and external partners
• Ensure alignment with strategic and operational goals

Support Governance and Strategic Reporting

• Align initiatives with organizational strategy and priorities
• Support executive-level reporting
• Help improve initiative management and governance processes

Your Profile

• Strong affinity with IT infrastructure, including technical and risk/security dimensions
• Experience in agile project management and leading cross-functional teams
• Strategic mindset with the ability to simplify complex initiatives
• Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent in Dutch or French, with good command of the second national language and English
