The Role:In this role, you will work closely with directorates across the Council to resolve queries, provide clear and accurate advice, and support timely and proportionate responses to information rights requests and complaints. You will have the ability to influence outcomes through effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
What you'll do:As a Senior Information Governance Officer, you will play a key role in delivering a high quality, customer focused service. Using your strong customer service skills and professional judgement, you will respond effectively to Data Protection, Freedom of Information, and complaints-related enquiries from members of the public and internal stakeholders. The role offers a varied and challenging workload, reflecting the diversity of the services and customers you will support.
You will be joining a successful, supportive, and highly motivated team of professionals that provides information governance support across a broad range of County Council services.
What we're looking for:We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our busy and expanded Information Governance Team. The team manages a wide range of information rights activity, including data protection enquiries, complaints handling, and Freedom of Information requests.
Your investigative and analytical skills will be used to assess and respond to data protection concerns, helping the Council maintain high standards of compliance and assurance. Drawing on established networks within the organisation, you will gather, analyse, and collate information for disclosure in line with the Freedom of Information Act and the UK General Data Protection Regulation.
A good working knowledge of the public sector would be advantageous.
