Job Description
Senior Human Resources Generalist

Location: Ballybrit, Galway

Salary: 60-65k depending on level of relevant experience

Reporting into: The HR Manager on-site

Hours: Office hours, Monday to Friday - flexibility with start times

Contract type: 12 month FTC to cover maternity leave

This is an on-site role however there is flexibility to work occasionally from home.

This is a manufacturing site in Galway with an established HR team and an excellent local reputation.

The Work

As a Senior Human Resources Generalist, you will partner closely with HR leadership, the HR Manager, and people leaders to deliver high-impact HR services and help build a strong, engaged, and high-performing workforce. Your main focus will be HR operations. Payroll is looked after by Finance and there is an internal TA looking after recruitment.

  • Partner with and support business and operations leaders to deeply understand business goals and workforce needs for assigned client groups.
  • Lead and execute HR initiatives.
  • Develop and implement solutions across the full employment lifecycle.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and direction to people managers.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence on recruitment for direct and indirect labor, onboarding and orientation, benefits, and manager development training.
  • Use HR systems to generate reports and analyze data related to performance, turnover, compensation, and other metrics.
  • Participate in enterprise-wide HR projects, for example, implementation of SuccessFactors.
  • Drive culture and engagement.
  • Investigate issues and implement sustainable solutions to mitigate risk.
  • Ensure consistent compliance with Irish employment laws and regulations.
The Person

The ideal candidate is a empathetic, proactive, data-driven HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment and is comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy.

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant HR experience. We can also consider applicants without a degree if they have 6+ year's relevant HR experience.
  • Technical & HR Expertise
    • Solid knowledge of Irish employment law.
    • Experience with HR systems, reports and analytics.
    • The ability to manage a variety of non-routine HR issues and provide sound, practical solutions.
    • A professional HR certification (such as CIPD) is preferred.
  • Skills & Competencies
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail and data integrity.
    • Ability to work independently and autonomously while collaborating effectively with cross-functional partners.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong, productive relationships with leaders and associates.
    • High level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgment.
    • Adaptable, curious, and committed to continuous learning in HR best practices and regulatory requirements.
