Senior HR Officer (Initially a 2-Month Placement)

Location: Llansamlet, Swansea
Contract: Initially a 2-Month Placement
Salary: £28,742.18 per annum (Grade E)
Hourly Rate: £14.74 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Holiday Entitlement: 33 days including public holidays (pro rata)

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior HR Officer to join their HR team in Llansamlet, Swansea on an initially 2-month placement.

This role will provide operational HR support across recruitment, onboarding, employee administration, reporting, and compliance activities. Acting as a key point of contact for employees and managers, you will support the delivery of an efficient and professional HR service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and pre-employment compliance checks.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and systems in line with GDPR requirements.
  • Process employee lifecycle changes including starters, changes, and leavers.
  • Respond to HR queries and provide guidance on policies and procedures.
  • Support employee benefits administration and performance management processes.
  • Produce HR reports and documentation for audits and management information.
  • Assist with HR projects, policy updates, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate training administration and maintain training records.
  • Ensure HR activities comply with organisational policies and employment legislation.

Essential Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years' experience within an HR support or HR Officer role.
  • Good knowledge of HR practices, procedures, and employment legislation.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle administration.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems.

Desirable Requirements

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or working towards a professional HR qualification.
  • Experience in benefits administration, HR reporting, or compliance activities.
  • Experience in a fast-paced or multi-site environment.
  • Welsh language skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes (reasonable adjustments will be considered).
