Senior Garment Technologist

This position is within the Quality (Technical) Department reporting into the Head of Quality & Sustainability, working across all men's and women's product categories and sustainability.
Please note that this position is offered on a fixed-term basis for a minimum of three months, with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities- Management of FP Better Cotton Membership. Annual target setting reflecting production projections, liaising with suppliers and monitoring BCCU collection.
- Researching and preparing the Restricted Substance Standards for both product and product packaging, ensuring legal compliance with the relevant global requirements.
- Ensuring the Product Testing Handbook remains accurate and viable with Industry and Manufacturing standards.
- Set up and maintaining all Quality Manuals including Grading, Production Tolerances, Product Presentation.
- Guiding members of the team, and supporting their queries relating to the Manuals.
- Updating all manuals to reflect changes in the law and addition of new products to the range.
- Maintaining the block library in collaboration with the team, researching and adapting as needs arise.
- Researching incoming European packaging legislation.
- Management of our 3 nominated Polybag suppliers across the product range.
- Reviewing, consolidating and monitoring polybag sizes across all product types.
- Facilitating regular updates with external partners including Intertek, Better Cotton & Mainetti.
- Giving guidance to the team on recycling audit trails and certifications.
- Assisting Head of with the annual Modern Slavery statement, and business policies.
- Supporting the mapping of the Supply chain beyond Tier 1.
- Extensive Technical knowledge of fitting, grading and construction and manufacture across a wide range of Apparel, Accessories and Footwear.
- Thorough knowledge of lab testing, commercial impact of results and the ability to manage external Laboratory partnerships.
- Responsible sourcing: Knowledge of certifications, standards and production.
- The ability to work under pressure to meet the required deadlines.
- Motivated in striving for the highest achievable quality through implementation of the most effective process.
- Self-Driven and able to work on own initiative.
- Analytical thinking.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint & Adobe creative suite.

Our core shift hours are from 10am - 4.30pm and so employees can choose to start and finish early, or start and finish late. (i.e. work 8:00am-4:30pm, or 10:00am-6:30pm etc). We also have 30-minute early finish on Fridays.
As we continue to work in a more flexible way, the Head Office acts a brand hub, where we can all connect and collaborate with one another. This role is a mix of office based (London) and remote working. We will expect the employee to come into the office regularly for face-to-face meetings and to work alongside their team on collaborative projects.
