Job Title: Senior Finance Analyst -Technology Transformation
Department: Finance(Group FP&A)
Reports to: Finance Manager - Technology, Costs & Capital
Status: 11 Month FTC

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As C4 embarks on our FastForward strategy, the Finance function has been realigned to best serve the business. The Commercial Finance function comprises the FP&A team, and Finance Business Partners who are aligned to the C4 strategic business pillars, in order to provide a centralised planning and analysis function. This role will act as the Finance Business Partner for a major technology transformation programme, serving as the key finance point of contact for the programme and owning the financial model and business case. The role will work closely with the Transformation leadership team, Technology function, and Finance stakeholders to ensure robust financial governance, performance tracking, and delivery of programme benefits. In addition, where capacity allows, the role will support the Finance Manager in business partnering the Technology Director and Director of Content Management, overseeing a combined budget in excess of £100m across Opex and Capex.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the Finance Business Partner for a major technology transformation programme, providing financial insight, governance, and challenge to programme stakeholders.
- Maintain the programme business case and financial model, including scenario analysis to assess the impact of changing assumptions, costs, benefits, Cash impact and KPIs.
- Partner closely with the Director of Transformation to manage programme financial performance, including tracking overspends, underspends, and ensuring delivery within the approved cost envelope.
- Produce and interpret monthly financial performance reporting, clearly communicating programme performance against forecast and highlighting key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Support preparation of financial reporting and insights for Executive Steering Group updates and senior stakeholder forums - to be reviewed by Finance Manager /Head of FP&A.
- Manage programme forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning, ensuring alignment with wider FP&A processes.
- Maintain strong financial governance, including version control of programme financials and management of the change log for financial assumptions.
- Work closely with Finance Business Partners across relevant cost areas to ensure programme impacts are fully reflected in forecasts and risk & opportunity tracking.
- Partner with Group Reporting to ensure appropriate accounting treatment (e.g. capitalisation of technology spend) in line with accounting standards and internal policies.
TECHNOLOGY FUNCTION BUSINESS PARTNERING
- Support the Finance Manager in business partnering the Technology Director and Director of Content Management, covering a combined annual budget of £100m+ across Opex and Capex.
- Provide financial insight and challenge to Technology leadership to support effective cost management and strategic decision-making.
- Analyse and interpret monthly results delivered by Group Accounting, proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and performance drivers.
- Support commercial negotiations, including new technology investments, vendor contracts, and renewals.
- Work with Procurement to identify and deliver cost optimisation opportunities within the Technology function.
- Work with the FP&A team to enhance analytical and reporting capabilities, including improved insight and forward-looking financial analysis.
KEY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 2+ years' post-qualifying experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable interacting with, and providing constructive challenge to the business
- Excellent financial analysis and modelling skills (Advanced Excel skills, experience of data visualisation tools e.g. Power BI is desirable).
- Excellent PowerPoint skills and ability to narrate the latest financial picture to both technical and creative stakeholders
- Ideally experience of contributing to a complex, high-value transformation programme, within technology or digital transformation.
- Proven ability to business partner senior stakeholders, including Directors and Heads of Department.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment, managing ambiguity and multiple priorities.
- High levels of attention to detail, credibility, professionalism, and integrity.

Hybrid working - From September 2023, C4 has operated a 60/40 working pattern, equating to three office days per week. Employees then have the flexibility to decide where they spend the rest of the working week. All our offices are open five days a week.
