Monzo is a fintech that aims to make money work for everyone. We are looking for a senior executive researcher to join our Executive & Board Recruitment team, helping to find and hire leadership and board talent across the organization.
The Executive & Board Recruitment team supports all hiring at ExCo and Board level, working closely with senior stakeholders and our recruitment teams to build the most critical leadership roles.
Responsibilities- Lead the design of Monzo's executive sourcing framework - setting standards for research, mapping, and candidate engagement.
- Partner with Executive Recruiters on live searches, co owning the sourcing and research strategy, and ensuring smooth collaboration.
- Design and embed a framework for recruiter sourcer partnership (e.g. role kick offs, milestone check ins, stakeholder touchpoints, feedback loops).
- Build succession pipelines for C suite and board roles, prioritising where you spend your time for impact.
- Create and maintain in depth market maps of leadership talent in the market and adjacent industries.
- Act as a trusted research advisor to recruiters and senior stakeholders, bringing deep market insights and competitive intelligence.
- Champion diversity and inclusion by ensuring all pipelines and market maps reflect Monzo's values and DE&I goals.
- Build and maintain long term relationships with senior leadership talent for both immediate and future opportunities.
- Contribute to projects that establish Monzo as a benchmark for executive and board hiring excellence.
- Innovate to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our systems and processes- not just incremental improvements, but also "moon shots" that fundamentally change how we approach executive search at Monzo.
- Have significant experience sourcing and researching at the executive or board level, either in house or in a top tier executive search firm.
- Have led or built sourcing/research frameworks and want to apply that expertise to continue to shape an in house function.
- Have been involved in succession planning or proactive pipeline building for senior leadership roles.
- Have a track record of partnering effectively with executive recruiters, ideally with experience shaping recruiter researcher ways of working; a collaborative team player with a track record of maximising team and individual performance.
- Be as comfortable designing strategy as you are executing the research behind it; highly experienced in creating search strategies, mapping markets, gleaning industry insights, and championing process and data quality.
- Bring credibility, discretion, and gravitas when partnering with senior stakeholders, with a high level of personal accountability, integrity, and authenticity.
- Care deeply about diversity, inclusiveness, and delivering an exceptional candidate experience.
- Have worked in house in a high growth business and/or have exposure to financial services or technology industries, ideally with a passion for FinTech.
- Learn quickly and run a thorough, best in class search process, including candidate research, outreach, engagement, and evaluation.
