The Senior Executive Engineer will be required to lead a team or teams and to provide technical and managerial support across service areas and to liaise with external agencies and support the democratic process.
You will be required to report to your appropriate line manager, assist the management team as may be required and deal with the elected members in respect of their role in the County and to attend the full Council and Municipal District meetings.
You may also be required to deputise for the Senior Engineer.
You will be responsible for the efficient management of staff and the work programme of the directorates/department and function to which you are assigned.

Main Duties of the JobSupervise, control and carry out engineering and ancillary services to include the preparation and management of work programmes.
Oversee the design and delivery of infrastructural projects including the procurement and management of consultants and contractors using current best practice project management, contract management and financial management procedures.
Represent the County Council at meetings with elected members, community groups and at meetings with general interest groups, businesses and residents, preparing reports when required.
Ensuring an efficient and effective response to all stakeholders, ensuring that issues raised through the Council's CRM system are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
Liaise with other local authorities, government departments and statutory agencies, as required.

An opportunity now exists in Meath County Council for the position of Senior Executive Engineer.
Salary Scale effective from 1st June 2026:
Hours of attendance will be fixed from time to time but will amount to not less than 35 hours gross per week.
The annual leave allowance for the position of Senior Executive Engineer is 30 days.
