  • Prepare construction phase health and safety plans and all associated documentation for execution of the works.
  • Support site establishment and ensure field staff clearly understand project requirements.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with site teams to ensure technical, commercial, quality and safety compliance during fieldwork.
  • Oversee all aspects of factual reporting, from processing and managing field data to issuing final reports.
  • Manage post-fieldwork deliverables, including draft logs, reports, laboratory testing schedules, valuations, applications and invoicing.
  • Use company financial control and project management systems to monitor budgets and project financial performance.
Wider responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation, particularly Eurocode 7 (EC7), BS5930:2015, BS1377 and other applicable guidance.
  • Provide mentoring and on-site training to engineers.
  • Offer technical guidance and advice to clients and internal colleagues.
  • Substantial experience in the ground investigation sector, including site supervision, project management and full contract management in line with current best practice and standards.
  • Strong technical skills in soil and rock logging, technical reporting and compliance with geotechnical standards.
  • Good IT skills, including use of geotechnical databases (OpenGround experience advantageous).
  • Proven commercial experience managing budgets and the full commercial life cycle of ground investigation projects.
  • Strong awareness and understanding of site health and safety requirements, including CDM Regulations.
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic and driven, with a strong interest in engineering geology and high-quality project delivery.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Remuneration and benefits
  • Competitive salary up to £43,000 per annum plus paid overtime, dependent on experience.
  • Opportunity to work within a supportive team focused on training and mentoring.
