Principal Engineer - Cork

Salary: €60,000 - €75,000

ProSource are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading civil engineering consultancy with a rapidly expanding portfolio, for a role in their Cork office.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the management, design, and delivery of projects within a growing multidisciplinary team, ensuring high technical standards and effective project execution.

This is a strategic leadership role, reporting directly into the company Director, offering the opportunity to shape the delivery of sustainable water solutions for public and private sector clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment and network projects.
• Manage multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring alignment with client objectives, budgets, and timelines.
• Provide technical guidance, review, and quality assurance for project outputs.
• Engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to ensure project compliance and coordination.
• Contribute to the preparation of proposals, tenders, and fee estimates.
• Mentor and develop junior team members to support succession planning and technical excellence.

Requirements

• Degree-qualified in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline
• Chartered Engineer with Engineers Ireland, or equivalent, or working towards chartership.
• 6+ years' experience in water and wastewater infrastructure design and project delivery.
• Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and complex engineering projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of water and wastewater treatment, pumping, and pipeline systems.
• Familiarity with Irish Water standards, planning, and environmental regulations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
