This is more than just a job; this is a legacy.We are now recruiting for a Senior Test Delivery Engineer, to be involved in industry leading, cutting-edge design project for a new type of power station.What you'll be doing: The Rolls-Royce SMR, Development Engineering Function has four capability areas; Research & Technology, Verification and Validation, Test and Commissioning.Reporting to the MDP Test (Design) Manager, the role is accountable for the leadership and direction of integrated project teams to deliver Modularisation Development Programme demonstrator / test definitions.Working with a range of external partners, suppliers, and internal customers, this role requires excellent integration and stakeholder management skills. Having high levels of drive and influence is key to delivery of high value demonstrator / test data to support the business needs. Initially the focus will be on supporting plant design optimisation decisions then later to providing crucial evidence to validate and verify the design and substantiate the safety case.The scope of this role currently covers the Modularisation Development Programme (MDP). The MDP is an integrated programme which safely develops and proves design, delivers production capability, demonstrates the digital thread, and determines SQEP requirements for the full modularisation lifecycle.The MDP includes 10 key demonstrators that address four main workstreams: MKoP (Modular Kit of Parts, Civil Kit of Parts, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and Facilities.The key responsibilities will include: Leading and supporting integrated project teams to define, plan, and deliver one or multiple test projects within the Rolls Royce SMR Development organisation. Acting as an intelligent customer work with the Supply Chain team to establish and build relationships with external suppliers and partners for the execution of projects. Provide robust experimental data / evidence / capability which duly meets customer's needs (e.g. design development, safety case, operations, verification or plant operator). Leading and coordinating test projects (inc. supply chain, suppliers, design, verification, HS&E etc.) to efficiently deliver high value projects. Managing technical interfaces between their own department and other functions within the business to ensure that, by working together, we produce a coherent and efficient technical solution.Typically you will have a degree or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline along with professional recognition through an appropriate body (or working towards it).We welcome applications for a broad range of industries, with nuclear experience not being essential for this role.Salary and Package: We anticipate paying a salary of between £48,000 - £63,000 DOE Bonus - Performance related target opportunity 12.5% Benefits Allowance - £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
