We're looking for a Senior Employee Relations Advisor for a public sector organisation based in Wiltshire (hybrid) on an initial 7-month contract, paying up to £574 per day (Inside IR35, Umbrella).
This is a hybrid role with an expectation to attend the office in Wiltshire 3 days per week.
The successful Senior Employee Relations Advisor will manage a caseload of high-risk, sensitive, and complex ER matters from initial stages through to resolution, including industrial disputes and employment tribunal engagement. They will provide expert advice to managers and employees on HR policy and UK employment law, and represent HR in formal hearings and appeals. They'll also deliver coaching and training to managers on ER processes and responsibilities.
You will need proven experience working with the following:
- 5 or more years of hands-on employee relations experience
- Managing complex ER cases end to end, including disciplinary, grievance, and appeal hearings
- Industrial disputes and employment tribunal engagement
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with trade unions, legal advisors, and internal stakeholders
- In-depth knowledge of UK employment legislation and its practical application
- Representing HR at formal hearings and appeals
- Preparing case summaries, policy documents, and formal reports
- Conflict resolution and navigating sensitive or high-risk situations
- Coaching and training managers on ER processes and responsibilities
- Interpreting and applying HR policy and legal frameworks
Public sector experience would be beneficial.
CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma or equivalent is required for this role.
You'll need to hold or be eligible to obtain SC clearance. Sole UK nationality is also required for this role.
