At Prodrive we believe there's no limit to what can be achieved when the brightest minds come together. Joining one focused and driven team, you will challenge boundaries in order to change the game for our customers. Our Advanced Technology business is where we combine our pace and agility with free-thinking to deliver complex engineering solutions and specialist manufacturing programmes to the automotive, aerospace, marine, and defence sectors, accelerating the net zero journey for our customers.

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Systems Integration Engineer to define, design, and deliver integrated systems across a diverse range of engineering projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define system behaviour, performance envelopes and interface contracts.
  • Develop CAN, LIN, Ethernet or FlexRay network architectures and message sets.
  • Define LV & HV power distribution and energy storage architectures.
  • Source and select EE hardware - from sensors and controllers to power electronics and energy-storage - balancing supply-chain realities with long term-term architectural vision.
  • Lead safety case and compliance work (ISO 26262, high voltage standards, etc.).
  • Execute hands on bring up, fault finding and optimisation on HIL, rigs and vehicles.
  • Guide selection and use of analytical tools-from hand calculations to Vector/ETAS toolchains and analysis tools (Mathworks, PowerBI).
  • Balance design decisions against cost, timing and resource constraints, working with project managers to keep programmes on a commercially sound footing.
  • Contribute engineering input to bids and support strategic capability development for the department (process, tools, facilities).

Who are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate will have extensive practical experience in automotive or motorsport electrical & electronic systems engineering which is demonstrated across varied vehicle architectures (including BEV/HEV). Through a relevant degree, apprenticeship or equivalent experience, you will have a proven track record of delivering complex electrical & electronic systems and a deep working knowledge of CANbus physical and communication layers, diagnostic protocols and calibration tools (Vector CANalyzer/CANoe/CANape, ETAS INCA). Competence in DFMEA, functional safety concepts and system level fault analysis and experience with hands-on prototype build, interface and debug experience is essential, along with demonstrated experience designing LV and HV power architectures (e.g., 12/24/48 V and >400 V systems) including power distribution units, DC/DC converters, traction inverters and on board chargers. A strong planner and documenter with excellent communications skills and commercial awareness, you will have an understanding of cost-drivers, scope creep and contractual realities to make informed trade-offs.

What can we offer you?

  • An attractive salary which will grow in line with your ongoing development and impact
  • 25 days holiday (which increases with long service) with an opportunity to purchase up to 15 extra days
  • Training opportunities for continuing professional development
  • Car and pension salary sacrifice schemes
  • Paid time off for volunteering
  • Consultations with our Fit 4 Life expert
  • Social events throughout the year
  • Exclusive company discounts
  • Life assurance
