Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor

Our client, a prominent global EPCM company, is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is a 12-month contract role based in their offices in Dublin or Cork with hybrid work.

The assignment will be conducted across an 8 to 12 month period, with occasional travel required to attend post tender clarification meetings with bidders.

Upon completion of the tendering stage, there may be an opportunity for the candidate to transition into a post contract administration role, should they be willing to travel to the project site based in Europe. The role is focused on the pre construction phase of the project, with a potential pathway to progress into the construction phase.

Pre Contract responsibilities
  • Preparing capital cost estimates
  • Assisting with tendering procedures and contract arrangements
  • Developing tender packages, including package assembly
  • Preparing pricing documents and/or Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for tender packages
  • Reviewing and assessing tender submissions through to recommendation stage
  • Managing the tender process with key stakeholders
  • Conducting tender clarifications and negotiations with bidders
  • Preparing tender evaluation reports and recommendations
  • Supporting contract agreement and finalisation
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement procedures and governance requirements
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks during the tender process
  • Liaising with design teams to ensure completeness of information for tender
  • Maintaining clear documentation and audit trails throughout the procurement process
Ideal candidate
  • 8+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying
  • Life Science Project experience
  • Ability to work well within a team and to collaborate with others
  • Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and flexibility
  • Drive and determination to manage strict budgets to ensure the commercial success of the project
