We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join Suir Engineering Ltd. This position will be based on an EP&R project in the Leinster region.

Our core sectors are Energy, Power and Renewables, Life Science, Food & Beverage, and Data Centres. Over the past 40 years we have delivered projects for Irish and multinational clients across the globe. We are currently expanding significantly, delivering large scale projects across Ireland, the U.K., Germany, Denmark and Sweden.

What you will be doing
  • Development and review of schematic drawings and single line diagrams
  • Developing HV system studies including protection coordination, arc flash, voltage regulation, load flow and fault level reports
  • Pre commissioning and commissioning of GIS and AIS sub stations
  • Complying with specific project safety requirements
  • Detailed design covering all aspects of high & low voltage equipment and control and protection systems
  • Specification, selection and procurement of equipment
  • Preparation and interpretation of technical specifications and enquiry documentation
  • Assisting with preparation of technical and contract documentation for issue
  • Monitoring progress against the programme and issuing progress reports
  • Preparing method statements and risk assessments
  • Document control, recording and transmitting information
  • Co ordinating with clients, other design team members and contractors on technical issues
  • Managing all technical queries on site and assisting project team with all site electrical engineering issues, including planning, testing, commissioning and handover of all project systems
  • Preparing programmes using MS Project
  • Planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating programme of assigned engineering work and projects
  • Assembling bid, approval and construction issue drawing packages
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of the design and changing it if necessary
  • Estimating cost, reliability and safety factors
  • Using computers extensively to produce and analyse designs
  • Supervising technicians and other engineers during development phase
  • Building, testing and modifying product prototypes
  • Carrying out any other reasonable and relevant duties as requested to meet the ongoing needs of the company
Is this job for me?
  • Suitable candidates must have a third level degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years' experience working as an Electrical Project Engineer in the HV Energy and Renewable sector.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload according to deadlines with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence colleagues at all levels.
