The Role

A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Bristol office. The role supports a growing workload of technically complex projects within the defence and research sectors, alongside high-spec research and design-led fit-out schemes.

You will take a senior role in the delivery of electrical building services design, contributing to project leadership, technical excellence, and team development.

Project Portfolio

  • Secure defence-sector projects requiring security clearance

  • Two high-spec fit-out projects within research and design environments

  • A strong forward pipeline of multidisciplinary building services work

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical building services design from concept through to completion

  • Prepare and review technical calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications

  • Design electrical systems including LV distribution, lighting, power, emergency lighting, and fire alarm systems

  • Coordinate designs with mechanical, public health, and structural engineers

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and external consultants

  • Ensure compliance with UK regulations and industry standards

About You

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering

  • Chartered or working towards Chartership (CIBSE / IET or equivalent)

  • Proven experience in electrical building services design

  • Experience working on defence, secure, or research facilities is desirable

  • UK national with eligibility to obtain security clearance (essential)

  • Strong technical, communication, and coordination skills
