The Electrical Designer - OPC will work on AUTOCAD / Microstation platforms for project/tender-specific activities assigned to the OPC group, collaborating with a skilled team on a wide range of international T&D substation projects. The role involves individual contribution using prior theoretical knowledge and experience to execute work assignments with established solutions.
The position provides design for engineering disciplines across multiple projects within the OPC. You will complete assignments on moderate-sized projects or parts of larger projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness, adherence to contract specifications, and quality standards. Highest quality standards and safety requirements are prioritized.
What will you do?
- Independently work on CAD platforms for 2D design and detailed engineering of substations.
- Experience with 3D design is advantageous.
- Develop tender engineering drawings efficiently and with quality.
- Ensure the completeness of assigned packages and the correct functioning of the substation system.
- Verify that engineering is developed with comprehensive information and all inter-discipline checks are completed, with results documented appropriately.
- Address CAD issues during engineering development.
- Focus on cost-efficient system solutions.
- Record all engineering changes and collaborate with the team on project impacts caused by these changes.
- Ensure compliance with Linxon and client engineering guidelines, standards, and quality requirements.
- Create work plans and cost estimates within your area of responsibility.
- Contribute to maintaining the up-to-date design issue log.
- Adhere to Linxon OHS procedures and guidelines.
- Participate in design reviews.
- Contribute to close-out reports and lessons learned, and review lessons learned for future projects.
Experience, Education, and Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in substation design and drafting using AutoCAD.
- Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD tools; experience with Microstation/Revit is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D platforms with good design speed.
- Experience in secondary engineering for GIS or AIS substations is required.
- Hands-on experience with HV substation secondary engineering drawings.
- Electromechanical design drawing experience is an advantage.
- Experience with UK/US/Middle East markets is preferred.
