The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing team. This is a client-facing role offering involvement across a broad range of new build, refurbishment and retrofit projects. You will take technical ownership of electrical designs, support junior engineers and contribute to the successful delivery of projects from concept through to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical design on a range of building services projects
  • Produce detailed electrical designs and specifications
  • Attend and contribute to client and design team meetings
  • Coordinate with mechanical and public health disciplines
  • Support and mentor junior engineers
  • Ensure designs comply with current UK regulations and standards
  • Contribute to project planning and programme delivery
  • Assist with technical reviews and quality assurance processes
  • Support the commercial delivery of projects

Skills & Experience

  • BEng or MEng in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartership
  • Member of a relevant professional body (e.g. MIET or MCIBSE)
  • Minimum 5+ years' UK design consultancy experience
  • Experience across sectors such as healthcare, education or commercial
  • Working knowledge of HTMs and HBNs (desirable)
  • Proficiency in software such as Revit, AutoCAD, MagiCAD and IES
  • Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and industry standards
  • Good communication skills with a client-focused approach
