About this jobMission Resourcing are acting on behalf of our environmental consultancy client.
Our client is a multidisciplinary environmental consultancy looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Ecologist with around 4-5 years' experience (or equivalent). This role is primarily office based, with the opportunity to work from home 1-2 days per week.
Candidates meeting 80% or more of the criteria are encouraged to apply.
Transferable skills are welcomed, and both in house and external training is provided, including support with unfamiliar software.
Key Responsibilities- Planning, resourcing and undertaking ecological surveys, including protected species
- Producing high quality reports, with opportunity to develop specialist expertise (e.g. EIA)
- Supporting project delivery, budgets and timescales
- Client liaison and technical input on survey requirements and mitigation
- Supporting business development and work winning
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members
- Ensuring health and safety compliance
- BSc in Ecology or similar (MSc Environmental qualification desirable)
- Associate CIEEM, or working towards membership
- Experience with PEA and UK Habitat Surveys, including complex sites
- Competence in protected species surveys (GCN, Dormouse; Bat licence desirable)
- Good knowledge of UK/EU legislation and planning policy
- Report writing, data analysis and GIS or mapping experience
- Experience across a range of sectors (e.g. infrastructure, energy, industrial)
