Senior EC&I Engineer

NES Fircroft is partnering with a major Engineering & Services client to recruit an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer for a significant Nuclear project based in Warrington. Hybrid working arrangements are available. This is a 3-year project, with a minimum of 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Role

Senior EC&I Engineer on a Sellafield Nuclear Project, providing technical expertise, delegating tasks as needed, and potentially responsible for delivering a key segment of the project.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Technically responsible for all Electrical, C&I, and Telecoms engineering work, including delegation of supervision and checking activities to competent personnel based on project size.
• Formulating resolutions and supervising technically challenging or high-profile issues, with support from the Consultant Engineer, Lead Engineer, or Project Engineering Manager. Effectively communicating with Clients and Senior Management.
• Supervising, reviewing, and checking C&I and Telecoms activities, including: philosophies, specifications, shutdown cause & effect charts, schedules, drawings & diagrams, datasheets, and technical requisitions for long lead items.
• Participating in Factory Acceptance Tests.
• Participating in multi-discipline Engineering Design Reviews and providing necessary C&I and Telecoms engineering input to close out actions.

Qualifications and Required Experience:

• Degree in Electrical or C&I discipline.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards it is preferred.
• TUV Rheinland SIS Functional Safety certification is desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of general engineering experience, with at least 3 years in the Nuclear sector focusing on design office and field engineering.
• Proficient computer skills, including databases, spreadsheets, and engineering design programs.
• High levels of initiative and self-management to meet objectives.
