Job Description
Alba Dewatering Services Ltd. are recruiting a seasoned Engineering/ Technical Hydrogeologist to design groundwater control and recharge systems for a variety of clients.
To be considered for this role you must be degree qualified in a relevant field, such as geology, environmental science, or geophysics. Postgraduate qualifications in hydrogeology, geochemistry, geology or engineering are preferred. You will have a high standard of written work alongside a good working knowledge of specialist risk assessment and hydrological modelling software/geospatial data, such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD and other industry standard software.
You will have experience working within groundwater control, geotechnical design - such as settlement calculations and flow analysis -and be confident in utilising computer modelling to do conceptual ground and mathematical models. Ultimately, the ideal candidate will be able to create and design best-in-class dewatering solutions for a variety of clients.
You will be knowledgeable about applicable UK/ regional legislation and regulations surrounding groundwater and water sources, and able to conduct your work in a fully compliant manner. You will have experience with working alongside local councils and leading regulatory organisations regarding water treatment protocols and legal requirements.
We are looking for an applicant who can work independently with confidence, and liaise with other departments seamlessly when necessary. You will be able to collate data, prepare geological reports and conduct investigations - such as contaminant investigations - to form a robust foundation for the projects we undertake. The successful applicant will be working alongside our Technical Director to spearhead new projects and ensure a high standard of work at all times.
Please note, this role will be a mix of desk-based study and field work. Time away from home may be required on an infrequent basis depending on site location. A clean UK driving licence is essential.

Essential: A 2:1 or higher honours degree in a relevant field, and (preferred) postgraduate qualification in hydrogeology
Essential: Experienced in utilising a variety of software to conduct modelling-based analysis and propose solutions from the ground up
Essential: Experienced in groundwater site characterisation, site investigation supervision and groundwater quantitative assessments
Essential: Excellent literacy, communication, analytical and numeracy skills
Essential: Full clean driving licence

In this role you will have the opportunity to be involved with all aspects of the project works from the preparation of desk-based studies, field monitoring, planning and supervising site investigation works to the preparation of reports including but not limited to, detailed quantitative risk assessment, hydrogeological models and the implementation of remediation solutions for dewatering projects. You will also provide technical support to the operators on site.
