Job Description
Senior Design Engineer (Energy & Utilities) - REF: 2621a

We are looking to recruit a Senior Design Engineer to join our Energy, Utilities and Renewables design team.

The Senior Design Engineer will have a client facing role. Some responsibilities are:

  • Design & project management from conceptual phase through to project completion in the Energy and Utilities sectors in areas such as building services/energy upgrades, renewables (biogas, biomass, CHP, solar, hydro, industrial utilities), pipelines, and installations (gas, oil, water, or wastewater).
  • Industrial and building services utilities design, HVAC, steam, refrigeration & compressed air systems.
  • Energy retrofit upgrades of buildings and building fabric.
  • Development of preliminary and detailed design calculations.
  • Development of design drawings and specifications.
  • Development of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design reports.
  • Balance of plant design.
  • Design and implementation of energy saving projects.
  • Attend and participate in HAZID/ HAZOP and LOPA studies.
  • Carry out PSDP role.

Location: Dublin office with consideration for Cork, Galway and Portlaoise offices.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Mechanical engineering degree (Honours bachelor's degree or higher), or a similar discipline relevant to the specification above.
  • 7+ years post-graduate and relevant design experience. CEng would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Good academic record.
  • Full clean driving license and own transport required.
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
