Salary: £50,900 £68,000
Location: Cambridge / Hybrid (% office-based)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
We are seeking a Senior Delivery Manager to join a leading organisation within the education and assessment sector. This is a key role within a technology-focused delivery environment, where you will work closely with Product Managers and technical teams to ensure smooth, predictable, and high-quality delivery of complex software products.
You will be responsible for enabling effective delivery flow, managing risks and dependencies, and supporting teams to continuously improve their performance and collaboration.
This role requires strong leadership without direct line management responsibility, influencing across product, engineering, and operational teams to ensure successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee release planning and release management, ensuring appropriate controls, governance, and reporting are in place
- Support forecasting and cost tracking, including input into budgets such as headcount, skills, and third-party costs
- Identify, manage, and report delivery risks and cross-team dependencies
- Enable effective collaboration between product, technical, and operational stakeholders
- Support the formation, development, and continuous improvement of delivery teams
- Act as a senior point of contact for delivery-related matters within your area
- Promote experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement across teams
You are an experienced delivery professional who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and is confident working across multiple stakeholders.
You are comfortable influencing without authority and translating technical detail into clear delivery outcomes.
Essential Requirements- Experience working in Agile delivery environments (Scrum and/or Kanban)
- Experience supporting or leading software delivery teams
- Strong stakeholder and customer engagement skills
- Knowledge of release and risk management practices
- Experience working with distributed teams (onshore/offshore)
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Data-driven and analytical approach to delivery management
- Strong experience managing dependencies and reducing delivery risk
- Passion for continuous improvement and experimentation
- Experience facilitating workshops and large group sessions
- Ability to empower teams and support decentralised decision-making
This is a hybrid role, requiring regular collaboration in the office (typically %) alongside remote working.
