ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a Senior Data Protection Manager to join our highly valued data protection team. Reporting into the Head of Data Protection, you will help to embed and monitor our data protection framework, advise on key data protection and privacy issues, and support the team in raising awareness of data protection across the organisation. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Support the Head of Data Protection in maintaining an effective data protection framework, including policies, procedures, privacy notices and any supporting documentation. Provide guidance on compliance with key data protection legislation such as the UK GDPR, DPA 2018, PECR etc. Assist with the timely management and investigation of any personal data related breaches. Provide advice and guidance on the statutory requirements of relevant data protection legislation to be included in contracts and data sharing agreements. Plan and perform some data protection monitoring activities, including at third parties, to assess the ongoing efficiency of the data protection framework. Producing inputs for the relevant sections of regular Data Protection reporting to Senior Management, Executive Management and Board (including Board sub-committees). Engage with the wider business on BAU and change activities across MONY Group, to ensure data protection matters are appropriately identified and addressed. Consult on/review Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) and Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIA). Support the ongoing development of data protection training and awareness materials and content and assist in the delivery of training. Where required, provide bespoke training on specific topics to relevant business areas. As an organisation we manage data of millions of our customers, therefore, you will need to demonstrate the following skills, experience, and qualifications: Have been exposed to the full responsibility of data protection for a large, multi branded organisation. Ideally have worked in a regulated operation, such as a financial or insurance business. Must be able to work well with different areas of the Group and an ability to thrive in a fast paced and fluid business environment. Be commercially aware and up to date with all the latest data protection legislation. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to craft messages that clearly and succinctly communicate key messages for internal and external audiences at all levels of the organisation. Have the ability to draft formal documentation and exercise independent judgement. Ideally BCS Data Protection/IAPP qualified Knowledge of retention and deletion practices would be advantageous.
