  • Hybrid (3 days in the office / 2 days working from home)

Job Description

  • Ensuring collection of outstanding debts
  • Establishing firm but friendly relationships with customers and regularly contacting them via telephone/email to qualify invoices becoming due and to collect due accounts
  • Ensuring appropriate allocation of cash
  • Assisting with reporting, new account opening, liaising with the business re credit risk
  • Liaising with operations team to resolve customer queries
  • Reconciliation of ledger accounts
  • Printing of customer statements
  • Generating authorised credit notes and sales adjustment
  • Providing customers with copy statements, invoices, credit notes, PODs as requested
  • Alerting Treasury Supervisor / Group Financial Controller to any problems arising e.g. late payments, credit limits exceeded, unusual account behaviour
  • Various projects as required by the business

The Successful Applicant

A successful Credit Controller should have:

  • Previous experience in credit control or a related accounting role.
  • A solid understanding of financial processes and accounting principles.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience of Credit Control or of working within a customer service environment essential
  • An organised and detail-oriented approach to work.
  • An understanding of basic double entry bookkeeping/journals/debit notes & contras preferred.
