Location:Stirling, Western Australia
Type:Permanent Full-Time
Salary:$106,999 to $112,630 p.a + super

The Governance team plays a critical role in ensuringtransparency, accountability, and compliance across the City. As aSenior Corporate Governance Officer, you'll lead keygovernance functions and support the City's decision-makingframework with integrity and professionalism.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the City's compliance and integrity frameworks,including FOI and delegated authority
  • Provide expert advice on legislation, policies, andgovernance obligations
  • Manage the City's legal services database and legalpanel performance
  • Draft and review Council policies, local laws, andcompliance reports
  • Support elected member complaint investigations andintegrity processes
  • Monitor legislative changes and ensure timelyimplementation across business units
  • Act as the City's designated Freedom of InformationOfficer
  • Prepare high-quality reports, memos, and briefings forCouncil and committees

What You Bring:

We're looking for a governance professional with stronglegislative knowledge and a commitment to public sector integrity.You'll ideally bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Management, Law, Business, orPublic Sector Administration (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong knowledge of the Local Government Act 1995 andFreedom of Information Act 1992
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in drafting complex documents, policies, andreports
  • Ability to interpret legislation and provide soundgovernance advice
  • Experience handling sensitive, political, and confidentialmatters
  • Local government experience (desirable)
