This role plays an important part in ensuring the Council's contracts are managed effectively and deliver value for money across housing and corporate property services.
Responsibilities- Undertake day to day contract management and administration functions, supporting the full contract lifecycle from mobilisation through delivery, review and close out.
- Manage a portfolio of contracts, monitoring performance against agreed standards and KPIs, identifying risks and issues, and taking timely action to ensure contracts are delivered as intended.
- Coordinate contract activity and oversee core administration processes, including processing payment certificates, valuations, variations and contract instructions, and ensuring accurate records are maintained.
- Support financial control by checking costs, validating claims and maintaining clear audit trails to support sound decision making.
- Build effective working relationships across the service and with suppliers, support contract renewals or terminations where required and help ensure services remain resilient, well governed and customer focused.
- Embed a culture of accountability, transparency and continuous improvement across contract management and administration activity.
- Experience in contract management and contract administration, ideally within a public sector or property related environment.
- Familiarity with processing valuations, payment certificates and contract documentation, and the ability to manage multiple contracts while interpreting contractual terms.
- A degree level qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
- Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills.
- Structured, proactive approach and confidence working collaboratively with technical and administrative colleagues to manage performance, cost and risk.
