Overview of the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Digital Consultants to join our team. The team has recently worked on some of the major UK infrastructure projects such as the New Hospitals Programme, Sizewell C and the Anglian Water Reservoirs Programme.

The candidate would work within the Asset, Information and Data Advisory team, alongside other parts of the business with capability on Digital Twin and Smart City strategies.

Key responsibilities and duties include:
  • Support and develop digital twin strategies and roadmaps aligned with client and international standards
  • Support smart city vision and strategy definition, smart service identification, and user centric design through personas, user journeys, and use cases, ensuring alignment with citywide objectives
  • Engage stakeholders through workshops and collaborative sessions to define, prioritise, and document digital twin and smart city use cases, validate concepts, refine priorities
  • Provide guidance on data management, including collection, analytics, visualisation, quality, security, privacy, and ethical use
  • Support and develop information management frameworks aligned with ISO 19650 series
  • Develop high level visualisations, diagrams, and digital solution architectures to illustrate strategies and integration points across systems
  • Provide insights on ICT infrastructure and operational requirements to ensure scalability, interoperability, and resilience of digital and smart city solutions
  • Experience in working with clients to develop digital strategies, initiatives and roadmaps
    Familiarity with the Gemini Principles, Data Value Chain, federated digital twins, and international standards (ISO 30173, 30186 for digital twins; ISO 37101, 37106, 37120, 37122, 37123 for smart cities)
  • Understanding of data management practices (data governance, integration, security, privacy, and ethics)
  • Excellent communication and consulting skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable strategies
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering digital twin or smart city strategies
  • Background in engineering, data science, information management, smart cities, or digital transformation
  • Experience applying systems thinking to model real world systems and inform digital twin and/or smart city solution design
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and define smart services that enhance urban living, sustainability, and operational efficiency
  • Experience with concept visualisation tools, including 3D models and diagrams, to communicate strategies effectively
  • Knowledge of ICT infrastructure and digital solution architecture within a smart city context
  • Familiarity with digital twin platforms, modelling tools, or smart city platforms
  • Experience working on large scale urban development projects or national digital twin/smart city programmes
  • Track record of contributing to thought leadership, publications, or innovative projects in the digital twin/smart city domain
